Procurement Legislation

Legislation is the laws made by government/s and they include Acts and statutory (or legal) instruments. The procurement process requires procurement officials to consider any applicable legislation – particularly in public sector procurement where officials are accountable for the decisions they make and the actions they take.

Legislation that is commonly relevant to most Australian Government procurement activities is outlined below. The legislation discussed is not exhaustive and additional reference information may be found at the Department of Finance website (www.finance.gov.au) or at www.legislation.gov.au.
