Under the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, entities are obliged to ensure that officials involved in procurement, particularly those dealing with suppliers:

  • recognise and deal with actual, potential and perceived conflicts of interest;
  • deal with potential suppliers, tenderers and suppliers equitably, including by
  • seeking appropriate internal or external advice where probity issues arise; and
  • not accepting inappropriate gifts or hospitality;
  • carefully consider the use of Commonwealth resources; and
  • comply with all duties and obligations including the entity’s AAIs, the information privacy principles of the Privacy Act 1988 and the security provisions of the Crimes Act 1914.
